Volunteering with The Holbeach Cemetery Chapels Trust

MORE VOLUNTEERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME – PARTICULARLY FOR THE HOLBEACH CEMETERY  RESEARCH GROUP

Holbeach TextileOur work relies on the support of volunteers to achieve our aims and objectives and we seek to offer a broad range of volunteering roles. These currently include:

  • Members of our Board of Trustees and Advisory Committee who all work in a voluntary capacity
  • Regular volunteers who manage the administration and undertaking of the Holbeach Cemetery Research Group
  • Individual volunteers who help with one-off events such as Heritage Open Day or The Great Big Community Textile Project
  • Individual volunteers who help with matters of event administration and fundraising

Volunteering with the Trust is a great way to learn new skills and put existing talents to use; get involved in your local community to make a difference; increase your confidence and self-esteem and enable to you to meet new people.

We will value your contribution and aim to do all that we can to ensure that the time you spend with us is rewarding and enjoyable, so if a role requires a specific commitment, we’ll always let you know first. Otherwise you can give us as much or as little time as you like.

“I went to the Food Festival in Holbeach (July 2016) where I saw the information stall and read about the projects to be undertaken. I decided to volunteer because I am originally a Londoner and I was interested in the learning more about the Chapels, Cemetery and the history of Holbeach. What particularly interested me was the aspects of historical research which would also reflect the social history of the town and its people.  I was also curious about the proposed textile project.”

“I attended the Heritage Open Day at the Cemetery Chapels in September (2016). Having researched various aspects of Holbeach for over 10 years, I found the event of huge interest to myself. The Chapels and Cemetery have so much historical value to the town and I feel every effort should be made to preserve them, I therefore joined the group as a volunteer to help make a difference.”
