‘TOMMY’ SILHOUETTE FOR CEMETERY’ – FUNDED BY CHOSEN OF HOLBEACH

Holbeach Cemetery Chapels Trust has received approval from Holbeach Parish Council to site a six foot “Tommy” silhouette in the cemetery to commemorate the centenary of the end of World War 1.

The silhouettes are produced by a charity called Remembered, and you can find out more about them by visiting www.therebutnotthere.org.uk

Staff at Chosen Charity Shop in Holbeach have generously donated the £750 to purchase the Tommy silhouette to be placed by the graves of the World War 1 fallen in Holbeach Cemetery.

You can still help us raise funds for a second “Tommy”making a donation to Holbeach Cemetery Chapels Trust by:

  • visiting mydonate.bt.comand follow the link “donate to a charity”, then search for Holbeach Cemetery Chapels
  • sending a cheque made out to Holbeach Cemeteries Chapels Ltd, to Holbeach Cemetery Chapels Trust, Old White House, Baileys Lane, Holbeach Hurn PE12 8JP
  • or dropping some money into collecting boxes placed in shops around the town.

GRAVEYARD SURVEY OPEN EVENT

Part of our Holbeach Cemetery Chapels Research Group will be continuing with their Graveyard Survey work on SUNDAY,  22nd APRIL FROM 10.00 a.m.  until mid afternoon  in the Cemetery.

Do come along and find out more about the work they do.
